The country has a low, hot zone lying at elevations below 2,300 feet (700 meters), which makes up nearly nine-tenths of the country's territory. There is a temperate zone, at elevations ranging from 2,300 to 4,900 feet (700 to 1,500 meters), which accounts for most of the rest of the land and a tiny cold zone. This diverse geography makes Panama a country that offers something for everyone, from the bustling city life of Panama City to the serene and tranquil beauty of the north.
